Founded in 1900, the University of Birmingham is located across two campuses: Edgbaston and Selly Oak. Edgbaston campus is set on a 250-acre green site with plenty of amenities while Selly Oak is located just out of the city centre, a 15 minute bus ride away.

With over 16,000 undergraduates and 9,000 postgraduates, it is the largest uni in the West Midlands and the 11th largest in the UK.

The uni has five colleges comprising a number of schools and departments:

●     Life and Environmental Sciences

●     Medical and Dental Sciences

●     Social Sciences

Birmingham is currently investing £500 million into developing world-class facilities. This includes a new sports centre which will be home to the uni’s High Performance Centre for elite athletes. It also includes a new library with over 60 km of shelving for books and journals.
