Plymouth University

Plymouth University is based in the city of Plymouth on England’s South-West coast. There is one campus with ample halls of residence to accommodate this large university, though medical students who take up working placements live at the Treliske Hospital halls of residence in nearby Cornwall.

90% of undergraduates are from the UK, with an almost equal split of school-leavers and mature students in attendance.

Marine studies are perhaps Plymouth University’s biggest accolade, undertaking leading research in oceanic life and climate change, making significant contributions to the world’s future sustainability. Their facilities include a marine centre where waves of up to a metre can be created in their pools, as well as possessing a range of research boats, exploration robots and field tools to monitor all climates and terrains.

Plymouth is the first university in the world to receive the Social Enterprise Mark in Higher Education, awarded for their dedication to supporting and mentoring young entrepreneurs in their business ventures.
